Goshen man killed in crash on U.S. 33 in Elkhart County

A Goshen man was killed in crash in Elkhart County.

Police say 28-year-old Sergio Salazar was heading north on U.S. 33, south of County Road 33, shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, when he tried to pass a vehicle on the shoulder and lost control of his car.

According to reports, Salazar’s vehicle slid sideways in front of an SUV, killing the 28-year-old.

The 50-year-old Ligonier man driving the SUV suffered chest pain.

The Elkhart County Crash Team is currently investigating.
