A 21-year-old Elkhart woman was killed in a head-on crash.

The collision happened just after 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, in the 200 block of Prairie Street, just south of York Woods Drive when a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound, crossed the center line and struck a northbound Kia Forte.

The driver of the Kia, Shanice Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup, a 62 year-old Elkhart man, was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
