A call about a suspicious vehicle at an Elkhart gas station resulted in the arrest of a teenager suspected of stealing the SUV.

Police were called to the gas station in the 900 block of North Nappanee Street, late Wednesday afternoon, when the Kia Sportage was left at a pump and the occupants took off.

The officer ran the plate and discovered that the SUV was reported stolen.

ABC 57 News reports police spotted several teenagers nearby in a school parking lot.

The teen who drove the vehicle was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center on a preliminary charge of possession of stolen property.
