The autopsy performed on the inmate who died in the St. Joseph County Jail shows he died of natural causes.

Joseph Valentine, 33, of South Bend, was found unresponsive in his cell on Sunday, Oct. 24.

The preliminary results show Valentine suffered a medical episode before he died.

The full autopsy report is not expected to be completed for several weeks, but no foul play is suspected.
