A 42-year-old man is due in court for an initial hearing on Monday, Nov. 8, after being accused of soliciting who he thought was a 14-year-old girl in Granger. But, it turned out the teen was a decoy, created by Predator Catchers Incorporated in Indianapolis.
Flemming Ryland is charged with child solicitation, vicarious sexual gratification, attempted sexual misconduct with a minor and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
The decoy, from “Predator Catchers” contacted police after they said they exchanged texts, calls, an intimate picture from Flemming and set up a meeting at a restaurant on State Road 23 in Granger where Ryland planned to hook up with the teen.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Ryland admitted going to the restaraunt to have lunch and then find a secluded spot to have sex with the teen.
“Predator Catchers Incorporated” places “decoy” profiles on various dating apps. The decoy profile would then have a live person portray that child and , in many instances, a perpetrator would then solicit that child to commit various sexual acts with an adult.
