Elkhart man accused of kidnapping woman, crashing car into home

An Elkhart man is accused of kidnapping a woman and crashing into a house.

31-year-old Daniel Garner was arrested last Wednesday after the crash.

According to court documents, Garner, who was armed with a knife, took the woman from her bed, forced her into a car, then sped off, then allegedly intentionally spun out and crashed into a home in the 1300 block of Johnson Street, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The attack reportedly happened in front of the woman’s son, who texted his father for help.

Police found the woman bloodied. She said Garner stabbed her in the leg.

Garner is charged with kidnapping while armed with a deadly weapon, domestic battery with a deadly weapon and strangulation.
