Body found in wooded area in Elkhart ID’d as missing woman

A body, found in the woods in Elkhart County, has been identified, and police say it’s a woman who’s been missing since Nov. 1.

The woman was identified as Kayla Richey, 29, a mother of 3 children, who was supposed to be going to an addiction rehab facility in the area.

Richey’s mother says her daughter was found in the woods near a local Walmart, the same Walmart where she had just bought prescription medicine.

An autopsy was scheduled for Friday to determine her cause of death.
