Police in Michigan City have arrested a 14-year-old after allegedly making threats towards a school.

According to the Michigan City Police Departments Facebook page, they posted the following information about the arrest:

On November 15th, 2021 at approximately 0115hrs, Michigan City Police Department made an arrest of a 14-year-old juvenile in reference to messages displayed on social media.

The Investigative Division along with School Resource Officer Cpl. Combs were contacted and immediately responded to start processing this investigation. Interviews were conducted and information was gathered by Detectives regarding the social media post.

MCPD Detectives were able to identify the source of the messages and probable cause was established to warrant an arrest. Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident and witnesses continue to be interviewed.

Chief Campbell applauds the quick work of Cpl. Scott Combs along with Lt. Painter and Sgt. Shiparski. He also noted emphatically that threats of this nature will not be tolerated.
