The last surviving K-Mart in the state of Michigan is now closed.

The former retail giant, which got its start in The Great Lakes State in 1962, closed the doors of their store in the city of Marshall, about 90 minutes west of Detroit on Sunday.

At one time K-Mart had more than 2,000 stores across the US, but eventually lost ground to other retailers before merging with Sears in 2004.
