8-year-old arrested after allegedly hitting, stabbing his mom with a screwdriver

An eight-year-old was arrested after allegedly hitting his mom and stabbing her with a screwdriver.

Elkhart Police were called, last week, to the 300 block of Wagner Avenue for a domestic disturbance report.

The boy’s mother said her son ran out of the apartment without permission.

She chased him and tackled him and then she said her son pulled out a screwdriver and struck her in the hand.

She said the child hit and kicked her in the stomach and chest, repeatedly.

ABC 57 News reports the 8-year-old was arrested for domestic battery with a deadly weapon and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Another one off to a stellar start in life. Hopefully they find out what is causing the dramatic behavior so he has anouther chance to make it.

The cause is easy: “modern” parenting.

The time-out generation is a disaster, and parents today are doubling down on it.

I am sorry that happened to her but she should have been blistering his ass a long time ago and teaching him respect and fear and that would not have happened.

This is completely wrong
It’s wrong to jail an 8 year old as the lowest age of criminal responsibility in europe is 10 so I think it was completely unjust
What he did was wrong but has usa given up already
This went too far

Sounds like she spared the rod way too much. He needed his butt blistered long ago. At 8 years old its going to be hard to change his thinking now but it can be done. Just going to have to sit on him hard and set firm rules and stick to them like glue. He needs a male father figure in his life as well if there isn’t one. Thats just my opinion though.
