St. Joe Co Prosecutor files petition in child strangulation death case

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor has filed a petition to waive a teenager charged with the murder of a 6 year-old girl on to adult court.

Monday afternoon the prosecutor made the decision after interviewing the family of the victim and reviewing evidence.

Grace Ross was found in a wooded area of New Carlisle. The suspect, 14 at the time, told police that a shadow figure told him to choke her to death. He faces charges that would include murder if committed by an adult. A hearing on the petition has not yet been scheduled.
