A 19-year-old Elkhart man was killed in a head-on crash near County Road 17 and Farmwood Drive.
The crash happened around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say a 71-year-old woman drifted onto the oncoming lane before making a turn and struck a vehicle driven by Brennon Norman.
Police say Norman was driving 117 miles per hour when he vehicle was hit.
He was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from his car and died at the scene.
The woman had to be extricated by emergency crews. She suffered a leg injury and was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Debris from the crash hit a third vehicle, causing some damage.
