On Thursday, Dec. 16, Goshen school and police department officials became aware of a statement of concern written on social media.

However, it turned out the the threat was not directed toward a local school, according to the Goshen Police Department.

The statement indicated a threat toward “GHS,” specifically for Friday.

The threat has been investigated by Goshen Police with the assistance of the FBI and found the threat originated from California directed at a school in their jurisdiction with the same initials of Goshen High School.

However, Goshen school leaders, in cooperation with the Goshen Police, have decided to have an additional police presence at the high school out of an abundance of caution.
