Man accused of killing man at Cheers Pub has been formally charged

The man accused in the shooting death of Rolando Saenz Jr. at Cheers Pub, last Thursday, has been formally charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the bar that shows Miles pointing a gun and firing it at Sands, killing him, after an altercation. Police caught up to Miles during a traffic stop on Saturday.

According to court documents, a woman with Miles are seen trying to hide a gun that is believed to have been used in the shooting and found ammunition that is similar to what was used in the shooting at Miles home.

He’s being held without bond and is scheduled for court on Jan. 4.

The woman who police say tried to hide was is identified as 24-year-old Amber Thomas-Clark. She’s charged with two counts of assisting a criminal and one count of carrying a handgun without a license.
