The problem of gun violence and threats are on the rise in schools around Indiana.
The tragic shooting in late November at a Michigan high school that killed four and injured seven others has put a spotlight on a recent increase in shootings and threats across the country. WFYI reports that more than 25% of all incidents at schools involving guns since 1970 have happened in the last two years
As of the end of last week there were six reports of guns being used or shown on Indiana school property, compared to four last year and only one in 2019. Hoosier schools had also dealt with more than 150 threats in 2021, and another 150 were reported in the state in just the last week.

WFYI is an agenda driven source. Compare Indiana’s numbers with the rest of the nation. Compare apples to apples by comparing the same crimes defined the same way, not comparing the numbers under the 1970 definition with the numbers under the 2021 definition.
Seeing a gun at school in 1970 did not elicit the same reaction as it does now, not since the hyperventilating leftists took control of schools and school policies. You know people weren’t calling the police over squirtguns or nerf guns in the 70s…
