Toys For Tots had a big year in Elkhart County

Toys For tots was a big success this year in Elkhart County.

Last weekend, the parents of more than 2,000 children met at ObeCo for the annual toy distribution. The Elkhart Truth reports that the gifts were distributed randomly based on gender and age of the child, since COVID restrictions made it impossible to have parents select the items individually. Volunteers bagged the items instead.

Wes Young with the Marine corps Foundation said there were five pallets of new, unreturnable toys that were received due to a mistake at the foundation, allowing for extra gifts to go out. Young also said that the Elkhart County area is exceptionally charitable with Toys For Tots every year.
