Man who jumped out of window while Elkhart Police conducted welfare check has been arrested

A man who jumped out of a window while Elkhart Police were conducting a welfare check has been arrested.

Police were called, late Monday night, to the 2900 block of Appletree Lane.

Investigators say it took about a half-hour for anybody to come to the door.

According to ABC 57 News, A woman left the home and then, 38-year-old Jeffrey Arnold of Fort Wayne, jumped out of the window.

Officers tackled him.

The woman said Arnold came to the home to get his dog, then, refused to leave.

Arnold was arrested for resisting law enforcement and criminal confinement.
