Elkhart Police have arrested a man after police found two dogs in what was described as an unhealthy state.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Columbus Drive for a report of two dogs that had been tethered outside on short leashes for hours.

There, they found two very thin dogs without food, water, or shelter.

ABC 57 News reports the dog’s owner, Furius Balderos, 25, of Elkhart, was arrested for neglect of an animal and false informing.

The dogs in the care of another person at the home.

Police say they will follow up on the animals’ care.

What makes you think this other person in the home will take any better care of the dogs? If this person was there when this neglect was happening and go out of there way to help them why would they do it now?
