Four people shot on South Miami Street in South Bend during New Year’s celebration

Four people were shot at a New Year’s celebration on the south side of South Bend.

South Bend Police called shortly after 12 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, to the 1500 block of South Miami Street on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot injury. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officer learned three additional victims transported themselves to the emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries. All said they were wounded by gunfire at the same scene on Miami Street.

The South Bend Police Violent Crimes Unit is handling the investigation and has interviewed several witnesses.

There is no information on a potential suspect or suspects at this time.
