Charges have been filed against a man who police in Michigan City believe shot and killed a man on Christmas Eve afternoon.

London Long, 20, was found lying on a sidewalk in the area of Wabash and 11th Streets in Michigan City. He died at the scene.

Mark Anthony Wright Jr. was taken into custody on Friday, Jan. 7, and was charged with murder for Long’s death.

He made an initial court appearance on Tuesday.

Besides the murder count, Wright is also charged with carrying a handgun without a license.
