Child care workers in Michigan will be getting a bonus from the state.
Governor Whitmer announced last week that almost 6,000 childcare providers were recipients of one of the largest grants in the state’s history.
The additional money equates to $1,000 bonuses for nearly 25,000 full-time staff members. Part-timers received $500 bonuses through the program.
The money is part of the recent state budget that provided money from the American Rescue Plan, which is designed to help local and state governments through COVID-related budget crunches.
