A former Notre Dame football player helped save a woman from a carjacker in Minnesota.

Robert Blanton was a safety for the Fighting Irish from 2008 to 2011 and eventually drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and played in the NFL until 2017.

He now owns a preschool and daycare with his wife in Edina, Minnesota — where he says a woman was attacked by a thief outside the front door of the preschool.

He saw what was happening and broke up the melee. Unfortunately the suspect got away.
