Toll Road tied up for hours after semi dangled from Currant Road overpass

The snow-slickened roads on Wednesday morning, Jan. 26, likely factored into a crash that resulted in a semi-truck hanging off of the toll road overpass near Currant Road.

The collision happened just east of the Mishawaka Toll Road exit.

The driver lost control on the icy bridge deck, according to Indiana State Police.

Traffic became backed up for miles in the eastbound lanes of the toll road. Currant Road was also closed to traffic from Cleveland Road north to Brick Road.
