Snow is possible for Thursday in some parts of Indiana. Temperatures are also expected to warm up.

“We’re not expecting too much of it though. It looks like some of the best chances of it are going to be around Indianapolis in points south, but it’s going to be light and variable across the area,” said Andrew White, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

“If you live up near Lake Michigan, we’re expecting lake effect snow to continue starting Thursday into Thursday night,” said White.

White also expects temperatures to warm up across the state.

Highs in many places will be near 30 before it cools down again. White expects lows back “into the single digits Friday night.” He does expect a “warm-up” by next week.

“We could see temperatures into the 40s or 50s by the middle of next week,” said White.

After Thursday’s snow, White says the next chances for precipitation won’t be until Tuesday or Wednesday. He thinks that will be rain.

Michiana had its coldest morning of the winter on Wednesday.
