Indiana’s state health emergency has been extended again

Indiana’s state health emergency has been extended again, while legislators try to untangle a couple of pandemic-related issues.

Governor Holcomb said in November he’d end the emergency once legislators took action to preserve expanded Medicaid and food stamp benefits, extend emergency licensing requirements, and allow the state health department to authorize COVID vaccinations for kids under 12.

Those provisions are currently in effect through Holcomb’s emergency orders, not state law. The Senate approved that bill 34-11, but the House has packaged those requests with a ban on employers requiring their workers to get vaccinated.

Five bills to limit workplace vaccine requirements died without a hearing in the Senate. President Pro Tem Rod Bray notes the Senate so far has kept those issues separate:

Minority Leader Greg Taylor predicts Senate Republicans will kill the vaccine portion. He says he agrees with business groups who argue they’ve got to be able to run their own workplace.

President Pro Tem Rod Bray notes the Senate has a head start on the vaccine issue from hearings held in December.

What is wrong with our state Senate? First they kill Constitutional Carry, now they are killing a ban on employer vaccine mandates, leaving the door open for more and more intrusive medical demands from employers.

We need to kick Rod Bray OUT and put someone in there who will actually fight for conservative principles instead of bowing to the Chamber of Communists… Err, I mean Commerce. Sorry, I confuse those two all the time for some reason…

Along with the Peoples Republic of Denver dropping all their Covid Tyranny. I wonder if Dopey Prince Eric the Crown Prince of Brandon realizes the panicdemic is passing him by? Besides NO ONE is listening to him at this point. Just a lot of flailing around and wasted motion.
