The Indiana National Guard were among those helping Hoosiers who were stranded on the roads during the recent winter storm.

A total of 240 Guard troops formed 60 highway teams to help provide aid to stranded motorists on Wednesday and Thursday during the peak times of the winter storm.

WRTV reports that 20 of those teams were sent to northern part of the state. Some parts of Indiana received more than a foot of snow in the storm, which stretched from Texas to Maine at its peak.
