Former Pulaski County Sheriff’s detective has been charged with theft

A former detective with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department has been charged with theft.

According to WNDU, Jason Woodruff is accused of embezzling more than $5,000 dollars during the first couple of months of 2021. He resigned last March.

A plea agreement filed for his initial hearing states that Woodruff was in charge of the evidence room for about six years, and that he admits to stealing more than $17,000 in total.

Woodruff’s plea deal calls for him to pay restitution.
