Governor Holcomb signs executive orders granting first-ever medical clemency for three offenders

Governor Eric Holcomb has signed executive orders to grant his first-ever medical clemency to three offenders.

One of the offenders is Alphonzo Griffin, who was convicted for robbery and causing serious bodily injury in 2003.

He was sentenced to spend 50 years in prison. However, Griffin suffered a stroke in 2014 that left him bedridden, non-verbal, and under constant physical care.

The grant of clemency states that Griffin will be placed on lifetime parole at a skilled nursing facility by the Indiana Department of Correction.

If his condition improve, his original sentence would be reinstated.

Governor Holcomb issued the following statement:

“Today I granted medical clemency to three offenders who are bed ridden and diagnosed with terminal health conditions. The three men will be released to the supervision of the Parole Board and will serve the remainder of their lives at a skilled nursing home under the state’s care. In all three cases the offenders require 24-hour a day care as they are unable to care for themselves.

I granted the medical clemencies after a great deal of research and consideration. These men are no longer a threat to society, and it’s been determined they are better cared for at a skilled nursing home. The Indiana Parole Board unanimously recommended a medical clemency for all three men,” said Gov. Holcomb.

How about medical clemency for Hoosiers who are done with mask and vaccine mandates???? Once again a politician prefers convicted criminals to law abiding citizens.

Dopey Prince Eric the Idiot of Hoosierland is toast. No one is listening to his ongoing emergency orders.
