A stolen vehicle was recovered after the victim’s son spotted it several days after it was reported.

Court documents say the son of the Mishawaka man that owned the vehicle spotted it on South Hill Street and blocked it. He contacted the police after checking the vehicle’s VIN. The suspect who claimed to own it said he had a bill of sale, but drove away. He was identified as Coty Oblinger.

No bill of sale was discovered a day later when the victim’s son spotted the vehicle again and called the police. The vehicle had been reported stolen on Merrifield Place on February 14. Oblinger was arrested on the 19th and charged with auto theft.
