Trial begins for doctor charged with driving into protesters

The trial was scheduled to begin Tuesday for a Mishawaka doctor accused of driving his vehicle into a crowd of protesters in 2020.

Glenn Wheet faces charges of criminal recklessness for hitting the group of protesters on July 4, 2020.

ABC 57 News reports that he would have ignored rows of orange traffic cones set up by the police to protect the protest on the Main Street bridge.

Wheet called police before his arrest and said he was thought the cones were placed by the protesters since there were no official signs about the bridge being closed.

He also said he felt threatened when people walked toward him, and he didn’t mean to harm anyone.

If found guilty, he could face 2 ½ years behind bars.

This is news to me. I thought prior stories said the protestors had blocked the bridge with cones. My question? WHY did the Police allow an illegal blocking of a major road? I know when we have a memorial day parade, lots of permissions needed and lots of insurance needs to be purchased. Have the Police ever stated why they put up cones but did not block both ends of the bridge with Police Cars with flashing lights????

Because BLM/Antifa can do whatever they want, nobody will stop them because our “leaders” are afraid to be called things like “racist”, even when it means stopping criminal activity.

The good doctor is being made an example of, because the powers that be simply cannot have ANYONE challenge the special “protected” class of protesters.
