Most school districts in Elkhart County are seeing decreasing enrollment.
That’s according to data from the Indiana Department of Education. While the state, as a whole, had an increase, mostly due to an increase in kindergarteners, data in Elkhart County went in the opposite direction.
It was the sixth straight decline for Elkhart Schools.
Goshen, Baugo, Middlebury, Fairfield and Wa-Nee schools declined.
The Elkhart Truth reports enrollment at Concord Schools increased slightly, though the district is still not yet back to pre-pandemic student population.

What did these school systems expect? Have they not noticed that PARENTS have had it with the school systems. School boards/teachers unions think the parents/taxpayers are the goose that laid the golden egg. Elkhart schools were told not once but TWICE a big fat NO on a tax increase! Test scores continue to be flat. Excellence in education is missing across the board. All the Covid mandates without any real science backing them up were imposed regardless the harm the caused our kids, the wishes of the kids, and most importantly the wishes of the PARENTS. Have you all not noticed the seismic shift in Virginia with the election of a republican governor based mostly on the school boards ignoring parents concerns over rape and Covid branding them “terrorists?” Have you not noticed the 9 on the Richter scale in Scat Francisco where three very leftist school board members were recalled by a 70% vote against them. Dopey King Xo the Idiot of Brandon won Scat Fransisco by 70 points. Do you think parents of any race will accept CRT racism being secretly taught to their kids? Do you think parents will accept their kids being taught alternative lifestyles without their knowledge or consent? Stay in your lane and leave the parenting to the parents. Yes I know some parents are not doing a good job. But it isn’t your job to fill in for them!
NAILED IT !!! #FJB
It’s a good thing Goshen built that $35-million intermediate school.
