Michigan House approves unapproved COVID treatment options

The Michigan House has approved a bill encouraging the use of unapproved treatments to fight COVID-19.

Michigan’s House voted Wednesday 56-48 to pass a bill that Democrats claim plays into the hands of conspiracy theorists and misinformation. The Bill amends the state’s “Right to Try” Act from 2014, which allowed patients with an “advanced illness” to try experimental treatments still being investigated by the FDA.

The bill would specifically add COVID-19 to the legislation.

Michigan Advance reports that GOP lawmakers have repeatedly refused to encourage Michiganders to get the safe and free vaccine, some going so far as to brag about how they will not get the shot.
