Glenn Wheet trial ends with a guilty verdict

A jury has found a Mishawaka doctor guilty of criminal recklessness for driving into protesters in Mishawaka in 2020.

Glenn Wheet’s trial this week included testimony from the accused where he said he was surprised to see protesters on the bridge and felt they would move out of the way if asked.

One of the people injured when Wheet drove through the group testified that he was pounding on the vehicle out of fear that children in the crowd could be hurt.

The jury returned with a guilty verdict Thursday afternoon. A judge will determine whether Wheet is guilty of a Class A Misdemeanor or a Level 6 Felony at his sentencing.
