Indiana State Police accepting applications for 83rd Recruit Academy

The Indiana State Police say is accepting applications for its 83rd Recruit Academy.

Effective July 1, the trooper trainee’s salary will increase to $47,000 with approximately 200 hours of paid time off and $3,800 of paid overtime during the academy.

The probationary Trooper’s salary will increase to $51,000.

You can apply at Indianatrooper.com. Applications are due March 27.

Why does the government get by with age discrimination? There are people over 40 who would be better troopers than many 21 year olds, and would have no problem passing the physical requirements. Every US law enforcement agency discriminates age, and they say its because of their retirement system!

It truly is because of their pension system. The fact that the state controls the pension system never seems to come up, though…
