Congresswoman Jackie Walorski is praising the humanitarian response of Poland to the humanitarian crisis of their neighbors in Ukraine.

The Representative is the co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Poland, and sent a letter to the Polish Ambassador to the United States praising his country’s response to the refugees of the conflict.

She also offered her support and said Poles shine “as a bright light in the darkness” amidst the devastating destruction in Ukraine.

Walorski has publicly condemned Putin’s war on Ukraine and has co-sponsored legislation to expand crippling sanctions on Russia.

You can read her letter to the ambassador below.

Ambassador Marek Magierowski

Embassy of the Republic of Poland

2640 16th Street NW

Washington, DC 20009

Dear Ambassador Magierowski,

Like so many across the Free World, I have been amazed and inspired by Poland’s great humanitarian response to your Ukrainian neighbors fleeing Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked war. Your people’s generous spirit, service, and resolve are saving lives during this violent invasion. Amidst devastating destruction, Poles shine as a bright light in the darkness.

As Putin continues his reprehensible attacks on innocent civilians, America stands united with our allies to assist Ukrainians in need. In addition to our unwavering support of NATO, America has committed to send additional humanitarian and lethal aid to Ukraine’s valiant fighters – as well as direct resources for Poland’s vast humanitarian operation.

As we have discussed, Hoosiers are blessed to have deep roots in the Polish community, and we take great pride in your nation’s heroic response to this conflict. Americans in Indiana and across the country stand with Poland in your vital efforts to feed the hungry, care for the hurting, and shelter the vulnerable.

Thank you for your steadfast commitment to freedom and to humanity. I look forward to our nations’ continued partnership to end suffering and promote peace.
