Police in Dowagiac are investigating after a a possible threat was made by a middle school student.

It was early Wednesday morning, March 9, when Dowagiac Union school leaders learned of what they called “alarming comments” made by one student to another on social media.

Police were sent to the student’s home and the student was not allowed to ride the bus or attend school.

The Superintendent issued a letter to parents stating that threats or threatening behavior have no place in their schools or community and the District Code of Conduct and can lead to very serious consequences and possible legal penalties.
