Police are investigating a homicide that was reported in Benton Township Wednesday morning.

The Benton Charter Township Police Department were called shortly after 6:30 a.m. to investigate an unresponsive 29 year-old man in the 1700 block of Crystal Court. He had suffered at least one gunshot wound, and did not respond to life-saving measures. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

One witness reported hearing gunshots around 2 a.m.
