Alcohol and drug abuse was no defense for a White Pigeon man sentenced to 18 months to 2 years in prison for possession of child pornography and other counts.
Jeffrey Alwine, 38, pleaded guilty the the porn charge and a related charge, as well as resisting, obstructing, and assault.
He was sentenced to as much as 15 years on the other charges.
Leader Publications reports Alwine’s attorney said he’s a different person when he’s under the influence of alcohol and drugs and that he spiraled at the start the pandemic.
The judge said there was no excuse.
