The Fighting Irish football team will play host to the Tennessee State Tigers in the 2023 season opener

It will be the first game in team history played against a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) team when they meet at Notre Dame Stadium on September 2 of next year.

It will be the second game of the season for Notre Dame, who will play Navy a week earlier in Dublin, Ireland.
