The Indiana Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case between Governor Holcomb and the General Assembly regarding emergency powers.
The hearing is planned for Thursday, nearly a year after the lawsuit was initially filed. Lawmakers passed a bill during the pandemic allowing them to call a special session during a public emergency.
The governor and some constitutional experts argue that the power call such a session rests with the governor only.
A trial court judge ruled in favor of the lawmakers, prompting the governor to file the appeal.
