Students in South Bend will soon have access to a private cell service to help them have better access to the Internet.
South Bend Community Schools is working with city leaders to create a private L-T-E service owned by the school district — to help students who have connectivity issues at home.
The plan is to erect three cell towers throughout the city to start out so they can test the feasibility of the project.
If all goes well — they plan to build more towers. However one snag in the roll out is the supply chain issues when it comes to microchips.
