Former IU football player arrested on robbery, kidnap, battery charges

A former IU football player, has been arrested on charges of robbery, kidnapping and battery.

After meeting a 30-year-old man through the dating app Grindr, 21-year-old Da’Shaun Brown arrived to the man’s apartment for consensual sexual activity on April 6th.

Brown was wearing a face covering and wielding a knife. Brown then forced the man to empty his wallet and head to a nearby ATM, where the ATM camera helped police ID Brown’s vehicle and license plate.

With a search warrant, Police were able to search Brown’s apartment and found the victim’s credit cards.

After an interview, Brown was arrested.
