South Bend Police are crediting St. Joseph County 911 for helping nab a burglary suspect.
It was around 1:45 a.m. on Monday, April 18, when officers were sent to a business in the 800 block of S. Michigan Street to investigate a possible burglary. The business owner was watching surveillance cameras from home saw an individual inside his business and called 911.
Two officers arrived on scene while the dispatcher stayed on the line with the owner who was watching the camera feed.
They say the 9111 operator was able to relay the individual’s location to officers as he moved around the property. One of the officers, guided by the dispatcher’s directions, spotted the suspect, placed him under arrest and recovered the evidence.
Noah Scheetz, 20, was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
