A stretch of Sample Street will close to traffic starting on Tuesday. It’s the stretch that runs from Mayflower Road to Ford Street.

It’s going to be shut down so NIPSCO can perform maintenance work on their gas line.

Access will be maintained to all businesses in the impacted areas. A detour route is set using Western Avenue, Chapin and Mayflower Road.

The street is expected to reopen on May 19.
