A man accused of a sexual assault at Central Park in Mishawaka is in trouble for allegedly running from police.

It was earlier this month, officers were called to the park on the report of the assault and found the suspect, Tyler Hoffer, south of the Main Street bridge, on a skateboard.

An officer stopped Hoffer at a gas station on Spring Street, ordered him to turn around with his hands behind his back, but ABC 57 reports Hoffer took off as the officer tried to cuff him.

He didn’t get far, though.

The officer tackled Hoffer, then took him into custody on a preliminary charge of resisting.
