Prescription Drug Take Back event at Indiana State Police posts on Saturday

Saturday is a good day for some spring cleaning and that can include your medicine cabinet.

The Drug Enforcement Administration is sponsoring the 22nd nationwide “Prescription Drug Take Back” initiative.

The goal is to prevent drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of prescription drugs.

Collection sites will be set up from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at all Indiana State Police Posts in the area, except for the Toll Road post and the Lowell post.

Anybody with expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs can dispose of them. Vaping pens without batteries and vaping cartridges will also be taken.

Needles, new or used, will not be accepted.

The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.
