A woman was arrested after police found her in a vehicle with suspected drugs in the front seat and a child in the back seat.
Mishawaka Police were called, Thursday, to a home on Division Street on the report of a suspicious vehicle parked behind a home.
On arrival, officers found an SUV parked behind the caller’s house with the lights on and the engine running, according to ABC 57.
The driver, Wanetta Lamphier, told police she’d just pulled over to rest.
When she reached to get the title of the vehicle, officers noticed a plastic baggie with suspected marijuana inside.
Officers asked Lamphier to step out of the vehicle, then found suspected meth and a handful of syringes. All the while, a young child was asleep in the back.
Lamphier was arrested on the charges of possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of syringe. The child was released to a family member.
