Marcellus man, 21, hurt in crash on Hathaway Road in Cass County

A 21-year-old Marcellus man was hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Church Street in Volinia Township.

The collision happened around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, near Hathaway Road, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The initial investigation shows the driver was traveling west on Church St. when he lost control from the loose gravel at the edge of the road. The driver crossed the centerline, then struck a large tree and his vehicle overturned.

The man was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Seatbelts were worn and drugs and alcohol were not suspected factors, however, speed is suspected as a factor, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
