Two people were killed and three others were seriously injured in a shooting on the south side of Goshen.

At approximately 3:20 p.m., on Saturday, May 21, the Elkhart County Public Safety Communication Center received an emergency call reporting a shooting that had taken place at a residence on Rosemare Court.

It was reported that five individuals had been severely injured.

Emergency medical professionals provided immediate care and arranged for two injured females to be airlifted to a trauma hospital in Fort Wayne. One injured female was taken to a trauma hospital in South Bend. One injured male was taken to Goshen Hospital for treatment, but has been declared dead. One male died at the scene.

Although the investigation is on-going, preliminary information indicates that the shooting was targeted, not gang related, and there does not appear to be any further threat of danger to the community at this time.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit has assumed responsibility for the investigation, with on-going assistance of the Goshen Police Department.
