Three barns lost in Constantine fire

Fire crews were on scene for more than four hours as several barns went up in flames in Constantine.

Crews were called just before 2 p.m. on Monday, May 23, by a passerby who saw the fire.

On arrival, crews found three barns engulfed.

In all, it took 30 firefighters from six different departments to douse the flames.

ABC 57 News reports crews were challenged by high winds and hay that was fueling the flames. U.S. 131 was shut down for more than five hours.

All three structures were lost.
